When I first heard about this movie I had ZERO interest in seeing it.  A zombie comedy?  Making fun of one of the BEST zombie movies of all time?  Then I heard a little more.  OK maybe I should look into this further... So I listened for more information, checked out their website, and slowly I became interested, then more so and finally I was chomping at the brains to see it.

This wasn't like anything I expected.  Shaun and Ed are utterly brilliant in this movie.  The writing is sharp and funny with in jokes and zombie refs galore.  Though it took a few scenes to get really good, those scenes were not wasted as we see the routine of Shaun's humdrum life, then how the undead effect it (surprisingly little at first).  Soon I was laughing insanely, but then this movie impressed me yet again, by not being a simple comedy.  I found myself caring deeply for these characters.  Shaun in particular manages several deeply dramatic moments where my heart went out to him.

The believability of this movie, comedic moments aside, is also another plus in my opinion.  You never feel like your running with a group of military sharpshooters or seasoned hunters, as in a LOT of zombie movies, where everyone is a keen shot and guns are more plentiful than water.  Our unlikely heroes whack the zombie hordes with whatever blunt objects they can get their hands on.

See this movie, then go down to the pub and have a pint with your mates.

First off, lemme explain something about myself. Queen is one of my favorite rock bands of  ALL TIME. With that said, ANY film with a Queen song in it is an immediate classic in my book. This film Had two Queen songs. With that in mind, this is going to be a hard review to write, because I know that for the most part, I'm utterly alone in that respect. So I write this review trying to forget that I'm a Queen fan. So the score you see on the left, in reality is actually higher than I'm showing you.

From the first scene in the film I was hooked. I'm a big fan of British comedy to begin with so i was ready for some really silly stuff.  I didn't however get it. Granted, it WAS silly here and there, but no more silly than you and your friends get when you get sleepy. Probably less, but it was VERY real type silly...Not like Mr. Bean or Monty Python where the things happening are just impossible. These are the kind of characters that I think we can all relate to on a personal level. Their heart and their humor reflects that. THAT alone is what made the film for me, and I WILL IMMEDIATELY buy it when it's released on DVD because of that.

Oh by the way, there were zombies in the movie. They looked very realistic and acted accordingly.

Anyway, I think there will be something here for everyone to appreciate, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing more of these characters in action.
